Some VERY Exciting News!!! New Mare & Stallion
154 Neapolitano Steaka I; We have been fortunate enough to secure 154 Neapolitano Steaka I 'Stefan', a Purebred Lipizzaner Stallion of Classical & imported linage 'Stefan's lovely Sire was Imported in dam by Geoff Adcock. Geoff was the 1st person in Australia to import Lipizzaners into the country. His 15hh dam, 536 Steaka IX, was imported by Geoff from Lipica. 'Stefan' is the only breeding horse left from his now deceased dam & he is the ONLY Neapolitano Line Stallion in Australia, making him all the more special. For many years he was a star in Rene Gassers show in Victoria. Known for his lovely nature, trainability & super talent esp. for the Capriole.
He is classically bred (meaning he carries no Hungarian linage), with big doe eyes, masses of presence, absolutely HUGE expressive & elastic movement & lovely correct conformation. At this stage 'Stefan' is only available to Non Purebred Lipizzaner mares for the 2010/2011, purely as he has not yet been put forward for accreditation, this is something that will be rectified in 2011. He is however going to cover out very own lovely 103 Lili in the 2010 Stud Season. See further details on his link page & video footage here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3T-J2x5oKU
Londra – Right : We would also like to introduce Londra. She is a Purebred Lipizzaner mare & the daughter of our very own 103 Lili. Londra's sire was the esteemed 43 Siglavy Monteaura IV. This stallion produced only 4 Purebred offspring (later in life) 3 mares (1 of which is in NZ) & one Stallion, being Londra's full brother Siglavy Lili. 43 Siglavy Monteaura IV trained by Tony Uytendaal . He was a wonderful Baroque style stallion possessing huge movement, which he has passed on to Londra. This stallions sire was Siglavy Flora –1 – 75 Imp Piber, who was ridden at the Spanish Riding School of Vienna in performances by First Chief Rider Hans Handler before being exported to Australia.
Londra herself is a baroque style Lipizzaner, perhaps more in the Piber fashion with a touch of her Hungarian heritage showing through. She will be bred to 154 Neapolitano Steaka I in the 2010 season. See further details on her link page.
It's nice to finally see good rain & therefore an excellent covering of feed over the whole of the property.
Cooroora Contessa was sold to an Endurance home in QLD where we are sure she will excel in competition.
279 Monza (right) has settled in well & Eskiden AP (Left) is a striking tall Arabian colt ready to take on the world.
237 Sagana - While we had only just begun with her show career, In August 2009, she slipped & broke her pelvis. It was just one of the freak accidents you pray will never happen.
After consultation with our vet it has been decided that 237 Sagana will be very unlikely to carry a foal to term. This is due to her pelvis being so horribly rotated. Needless to say we are devastated as we have owned this mare since she was 6 months of age. We have trained her & shown her & eagerly awaited the time where she could have foals of her own. Sadly this is not to be. Time will tell & if she can not carry her foal herself we may be lucky enough to try Embryo Transfer.
Right & Below:
'Merlin' (257 Favory Pallavicina) at play. Levade is quite an easy feat when you have such a strongly developed hindquarter & excellent natural balance. 'Merlin' often displays his athletic heritage & abilities while playing in the paddock.
He has an awesome presence, even simply just standing in his paddock. Amazing how he has changed from a cute New Born.
